Week 5, Sunday
At Crécy in 1346 the French sent their hired Genoese crossbowmen forward at the end of a long march, with their big shields still packed in the baggage wagons far behind and their bowstrings soaked by a rainstorm. The English longbowmen shot them apart, and when the Genoese turned to run, the French knights rode straight over their own men to reach the enemy and died in the mud doing it. Alex is that army's baggage boy, and he lost the fucking wagon.
Alex has Kyle Monangai in his FLEX, a running back who is out and projected for 0, and he did it right after Rashee Rice played and scored 0 for him in week 4. Alex was 49% to win before Thursday and is 22% now, because he banked 2.9 while Anish banked 45.7, and like a Genoese with a wet string he is standing in an open field holding something that does not work. Bijan Robinson at 24.3 and Jacoby Brissett at 21.7 are the only knights he has, and they will spend Sunday trampling over the rest of his lineup to get to an expected 141.3 that loses anyway. The Genoese at least had the rain to blame, and Alex had an injury report, a bench and all week. Dumbass.
The matchups
Shough and Fhough (Justin) vs Navid
Navid is 55% to beat Justin on an expected 162.1, and all of it is Josh Allen dragging a lineup that hands a starting spot to KC Concepcion and his 9.5. Justin owns Jahmyr Gibbs at 25.7 and is still the underdog, because he lost 1,143 in FantasyCalc value in one trade in week 4 and now starts Makai Lemon for 7.2. Both of them are passengers.
Love on the Spectrum (Ethan) vs The Mayeflower (Carlos)
Jameis Winston at 17.4 is a star of Ethan's lineup, right behind Brock Bowers at 19, and Ethan is the commissioner, so he built this league and then built that. Carlos banked 40.8 on Thursday and went from 52% to 59% without lifting a finger, which is lucky, because Carlos left 72.3 on his bench in week 4 and cannot be trusted to lift one. Ethan is 41% and sinking, a commissioner getting topped in his own league by a man who cannot set a lineup.
