Justin: Steal by 37 spots
Justin got Quentin Johnston at 17.07, a steal of 37, which is what happens when a man hoards receivers long enough that one eventually falls into his lap unsupervised.
Quentin Johnston, a WR50, came 37 spots late at 17.07, Justin's seventh receiver in a lineup that starts three, so his idea of value is going back to the one aisle he already emptied. The rest of the cart is quarterbacks: Tyler Shough at 8.04, Sam Darnold at 10.04 and Ty Simpson at 12.04, all parked behind Trevor Lawrence from 4.04 for two starting spots. He named the team Shough and Fhough after a quarterback he took in the eighth round, which is the loudest a man can advertise that he has nothing.
Anish used 17.05 on Jakobi Meyers, a 29-year-old and his eighth receiver, which stopped being a roster and became a storage unit somewhere around the sixth.
Matthew, Brandon and Peter all took running backs in the picks right before this one, and Anish responded by taking Jakobi Meyers, a 29-year-old WR65, his eighth receiver for the three receiver jobs this lineup fills. Rico Dowdle was sitting there as FantasyCalc's 139th player and Anish walked past him to buy another guy who will never see the field, the same aisle he has been circling since Ja'Marr Chase at 1.06. Seventeen rounds in and the man still shops like the store only sells one thing.

Peter: Steal by 36 spots
Zach Charbonnet fell into Peter's lap at 17.04, a steal of 36 and his sixth running back, and Peter will tell everyone he saw it coming.
Zach Charbonnet came 36 spots late at 17.04, a steal Peter earned by standing perfectly still while Ethan, Matthew and Brandon each grabbed a running back ahead of him. It is his sixth running back, stacked behind Kenneth Walker, Cam Skattebo, Chuba Hubbard, Jonah Coleman and Kaelon Black, a backfield wide enough to fill a stadium and a lineup that starts two of them. He named the team after a receiver and has spent the whole back half of this draft buying running backs to watch each other work.

Brandon: RB at 17.03
Brandon took Jordan Mason at 17.03 for his sixth running back, then watched Peter take Charbonnet with the very next pick, cuck chair and all.
Jordan Mason fell 14 spots to Brandon at 17.03, the third running back off the board in a row, because Ethan and Matthew went running back and Brandon has never once wanted something before another man reached for it. That is his sixth running back for the two running back jobs this lineup fills, stacked behind Jonathan Taylor from 3.03 and Derrick Henry from 5.03, and Quentin Johnston sat there as the 130th player on the board while Brandon got in line to buy his own backup's backup. Ethan: RB at 17.01
Mike Washington, 23 years old, slid 24 spots to Ethan at 17.01, the fourth back for a team called Love on the Spectrum, honest at last about the courtship.
Mike Washington fell 24 spots to Ethan at 17.01, the third straight running back taken, so the commissioner's one piece of honest value this round showed up only because two other men got in line ahead of him. It is his fourth running back for the two running back jobs this lineup fills, from a man who spent 11.01 on Daniel Jones and 15.01 on Michael Penix, while Quentin Johnston, FantasyCalc's 130th player, went unclaimed. Ethan: WR at 16.10
Nine spots early at 16.10 for Ted Hurst, age 22, Ethan's seventh receiver, because a man who cannot stop swiping eventually stops reading the names.
Ted Hurst went nine spots early at 16.10, the fifth receiver in a row off the board, so the commissioner watched four men get in line and took his place at the back without asking what they were waiting for. That is his seventh receiver for the three receiver jobs he wrote into his own rulebook, and he still had appetite left over for Daniel Jones at 11.01 and Michael Penix at 15.01, stacked behind the quarterback he took at 1.10. Matthew: WR at 16.09
Germie Bernard, 26 spots early, gave Matthew a sixth wideout at 22 and confirmed the method: scroll until a name sounds unfamiliar, then submit.
Matthew took Germie Bernard 26 spots early at 16.09, the fifth receiver in a row off the board and the sixth he has bought for the three receiver jobs this lineup fills. Zach Charbonnet was the 128th player available and Quentin Johnston the 130th, and Matthew walked past both because he was busy adding a WR74 to a room that already holds A.J. Brown, Brian Thomas and Jameson Williams, the way he stacked Dak Prescott at 4.09 and C.J. Stroud at 9.02 behind Jayden Daniels. Two picks ago he spent 14.09 on Travis Hunter as a defensive back, a position this league does not start, so the man is now drafting for a lineup that exists only in his head.

Brandon spent 16.08 on his sixth receiver, Dontayvion Wicks, while Zach Charbonnet sat there unclaimed, which is hoarding for its own sake.
Brandon took Dontayvion Wicks 10 spots early at 16.08, his sixth receiver for the three receiver jobs this lineup fills, while Quentin Johnston sat there as the 130th player on the board. This is the man who already owned Joe Burrow from 1.08 and Patrick Mahomes from 4.08 and still went and got Kirk Cousins at 15.03, because every position he has already solved gets a spare, and every hole gets ignored. Peter: Reached 33 spots
Devaughn Vele, a 28-year-old FantasyCalc ranks 190th, cost Peter 16.07, 33 spots early, with Zach Charbonnet sitting right there, and Vele is Peter's fifth receiver.
Devaughn Vele went 33 spots early at 16.07, a 28-year-old WR76, and he is the fifth receiver Peter has bought for three receiver jobs, stacked behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba from 1.07 and Jaylen Waddle from 7.04. Zach Charbonnet was there at 128th and Quentin Johnston at 130th, and Peter walked past both because Anish took a receiver one pick earlier and Peter cannot be alone in a room with his own opinion. Malachi Fields fell 25 spots before Anish took him at 16.06, honest money, and the seventh receiver he has stacked for a lineup that fills three receiver jobs. Michael Penix sat there as the 124th name on the board with Jaxson Dart and Cam Ward being all Alex has for two quarterback jobs, and he looked at that hole and bought a backup for a job he finished eight rounds ago. Navid: WR at 14.02
Navid used 14.02 on Chris Bell, his 7th receiver, passing on Michael Penix: at some point hoarding wideouts stops being a strategy and starts being a compulsion.
Chris Bell came seven spots under price at 14.02, the second receiver off the board in a row, and Navid now owns seven of them for a lineup with room for three. He has Josh Allen and Malik Nabers and has spent every round since buying spares to sit behind them, so getting a discount here just means he found a cheaper way to make the same mistake. Collector.

Carlos: WR at 14.01
Carlos spent 14.01 on a 30-year-old Deebo Samuel, his fifth receiver, and walked past Michael Penix to do it: that is collecting, not drafting.
Carlos opened the 14th round by taking Deebo Samuel home, a 30-year-old WR52, two spots ahead of his price, which makes five receivers bought for the 3 spots this league starts. Michael Penix sat right there at 124th on FantasyCalc's board and got walked past, because Carlos already stashed Drake Maye, Jordan Love and Matthew Stafford for the 2 quarterback jobs on offer, so there is no hole left on this roster and he keeps buying spackle anyway. Carlos spent 13.10 on Rhamondre Stevenson, his fourth running back, a 28-year-old who fell 12 spots, because nothing says planning like stockpiling legs with no mileage left.
Rhamondre Stevenson fell 12 spots past his price at 13.10, the second back off the board in a row and the fourth one Carlos has parked behind Saquon Barkley, Breece Hall and Kyren Williams for the 2 spots this league starts. It is the best price he has paid all draft, which only exposes the rest of it: Drake Maye at 1.01, then Jordan Love, then Matthew Stafford, then Travis Kelce at 12.01 to keep George Kittle company at the one tight end job he owns. Every round he finds a position he has already solved and buys it again, and he called the team Carlos because inventing a second word was too much work.

Devante: Steal by 26 spots
DK Metcalf fell 26 spots to Devante at 13.06, his fifth receiver, which is less a strategy than a man hoarding Pittsburgh souvenirs to justify a team name that already stutters.
DK Metcalf, 28 years old and 26 spots underpriced, made it all the way to 13.06 because twelve rounds of this league looked at the WR36 and kept buying running backs, and Devante finally took him home after Brandon, Peter and Anish walked past him one more time. He is the fifth receiver on a roster that starts three, wedged behind Amon-Ra St. Brown, Emeka Egbuka, Tee Higgins and the Davante Adams that Devante bought at 11.06 purely so the team name would scan. Dallas Goedert, 31 years old, fell six spots before Anish grabbed him at 13.05, which makes him the second tight end on a roster that starts one, stacked behind the Kenyon Sadiq bought at 9.05. Matthew, Brandon and Peter cleared out the backfield directly in front of him and Anish responded by buying a spare for the one job he had already filled, with DK Metcalf sitting there as the 100th name on FantasyCalc's board. Brandon: WR at 10.08
Michael Wilson at 10.08 is Brandon's third receiver, taken four spots early in a run of three, while Malik Willis and Daniel Jones sat there untouched.
Third man into the receiver run, and Brandon's haul is Michael Wilson, the WR37, four spots early: fair, sensible, and now locked into the third of the three receiver chairs this league starts because Wilson is the third receiver he owns. Ten rounds of orderly shopping bought him Joe Burrow and Patrick Mahomes, Tucker Kraft and Dalton Kincaid crammed into one tight end slot, and a starting lineup whose last wideout is a 26-year-old Cardinal nobody argued over. He didn't draft a roster, he completed a checklist.

Peter fell in behind Anish in the receiver run and took Jalen Coker four spots early, his fourth receiver, queued up behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Zay Flowers and Jaylen Waddle for three chairs. It is a fair price, which is the problem: ten rounds of plugging one hole and then the next, quarterbacks bought on schedule, tight end handled, nothing broken and nothing worth watching. At 10.01 Carlos reached 15 spots for George Kittle, age 32, and walked past Baker Mayfield at 57th: he drafted a tight end with a pension.
Ten rounds in, Carlos noticed the single tight end chair was empty and jammed George Kittle into it at 10.01, 15 spots ahead of where FantasyCalc had him, at 32 years old. Credit where it is owed: it is his first tight end and the hole is finally plugged, though it comes one pick after he bought his third quarterback for two slots, so the sequence was hoard arms, panic, buy the TE12. Brandon took Tucker Kraft at 7.03, one spot early, a defensible tight end nobody will praise, with Kyren Williams sitting there at 53rd like an ex he refuses to text.
Tucker Kraft, 25, taken one spot early at 7.03, the TE5, and Brandon slots a tight end into the one tight end spot this league makes him start. Burrow, Mahomes, Nacua, Taylor, Henry and DeVonta Smith already in the building, and now this: a man assembling a legal lineup on purpose, which in this room reads like he got the answers somewhere. Kyren Williams sitting at 53 is the only thing anyone can pin on him, and it will not be enough.

Matthew: WR at 7.02
Matthew spent 7.02 on 29-year-old A.J. Brown, WR22, with Javonte Williams and Kyren Williams both sitting there, because two receivers is apparently a running game.
A.J. Brown, 29 years old, six spots early at 7.02, and Matthew acts like he found something. That is his second receiver for the three this league starts, bought after two quarterbacks, two backs and a tight end, which means he spent six rounds filling rooms he already had furniture in and is still one wideout short of legal. Kyren Williams was sitting at 53 and got passed over for a man who was drafted when Matthew still had hair.

Ethan: QB at 7.01
Ethan got Fernando Mendoza ten spots late at 7.01, his second quarterback, and skipped Javonte Williams to do it: a bargain nobody else wanted, hoarded like treasure anyway.
Fernando Mendoza was there at 6.10 and Ethan walked past him for a receiver, then took him at 7.01 anyway, a steal of 10 that only exists because the turn wrapped and nobody else was allowed to touch him. The commissioner congratulating himself on a bargain he could not have lost is the purest thing in this draft. He finally has two quarterbacks for the two his own rules make him start, and he got there by stepping over Javonte Williams at 50 to do it a pick late.

That is his first receiver for the three this league starts, paid for by stepping over Javonte Williams at 50, and with Jayden Daniels from 1.09 and Dak Prescott from 4.09 both already in the building he had one hole to fill and overpaid to half-fill it. DeVonta Smith, 27, fell two spots into Brandon's lap at 6.08, the WR19, and he only got there because Devante, Anish and Peter spent the three picks ahead of him hauling running backs out of the same bin. Joe Burrow at 1.08 and Patrick Mahomes at 4.08 already cover both quarterback slots, so Brandon is the rare man in this round who bought the thing he needed instead of the thing that was moving, and that is his second receiver for the three this league starts. Peter took Cam Skattebo at 6.07, the fourth running back in a row off the board, which means he did not pick a player so much as follow a stampede.
Cam Skattebo caps four straight running backs, taken five spots ahead of his RB19 tag, and Peter got in that line behind Justin, Devante and Anish like a man joining a queue without asking what it was for. Javonte Williams sat there at 50 the entire time, unclaimed, so Peter paid extra to be fourth to the same idea and stack a second back behind Kenneth Walker from 3.04. TreVeyon Henderson at 6.05 is FantasyCalc's 76th player taken 21 spots early, the RB23, and Devante got there by following Justin into the same running back run one pick later like a man grabbing the last thing off a table other people already picked over. Javonte Williams was sitting at 50 with nobody's hands on him, which means Devante paid a premium to end up with the worse back and his second one at that, stacked behind Chase Brown from 4.05. Jaxson Dart fell seven spots past FantasyCalc's 21st and landed on Alex at 3.08, the QB7, and the only reason he was still breathing is that Devante took Jalen Hurts two picks earlier and left the 23-year-old sitting there like a coat nobody claimed. Bijan Robinson, CeeDee Lamb, and now one quarterback in a league that starts two, so Alex has finished half a lineup and all of his thinking. He got a steal by sitting still, and he will describe it as a plan until someone stops him.

Justin: WR at 3.07
Justin passed on Trevor Lawrence at 3.07 to take Drake London, then circled back and took Lawrence at 4.04 anyway, a man arguing with himself and losing both rounds.
Drake London at 3.07, one spot ahead of FantasyCalc's 28th, the WR8, a genuinely fine second receiver to stand next to Justin Jefferson. Then Alex reached past him at 3.08 for Jaxson Dart while Trevor Lawrence sat there unwanted, and Justin circled back for Lawrence at 4.04 like a man returning to a bar at closing time. He plays in a league that starts two quarterbacks and drafts like he only just heard about it.

Devante: QB at 3.06
Jalen Hurts at 3.06 is Devante's second quarterback, collected before most of this league has one, hoarding the position like a man who cannot finish anything else.
Jalen Hurts, FantasyCalc's 23rd, slid all the way to 3.06, and Devante stacked him on top of Lamar Jackson from 1.05 for a perfectly legal pair of quarterbacks in a league that starts two. The three picks directly in front of him were Jonathan Taylor, Kenneth Walker and Omarion Hampton, and Devante sat through that entire parade to buy the one position he had already handled in the first round. Alex took Jaxson Dart at 3.08 and Justin took Trevor Lawrence at 4.04 off the scraps behind him, which means the most defensible pick of the round belongs to a man who watched three running backs walk out the door and answered by getting himself a second quarterback.

Anish: RB at 3.05
Omarion Hampton at 3.05 made it five running backs in a row, and Anish walked into the middle of a stampede thinking he picked the direction.
Omarion Hampton at 3.05, one spot ahead of FantasyCalc's 26th, the RB8, and the fifth running back taken in a run of five, which means De'Von Achane, Jonathan Taylor and Kenneth Walker all left the room before Anish got to decide anything. It is his first running back and a fair price, so credit where it's due, except he bought it by waving Jaxson Dart through to Alex at 3.08 and Trevor Lawrence through to Justin at 4.04 while Justin Herbert stands alone in a lineup that starts two quarterbacks. Three men ahead of him cleared the table and Anish sat down and ate what was left.

Peter: RB at 3.04
Fifth running back in a row off the board was Kenneth Walker to Peter at 3.04, while Jaxson Dart waited around for Alex to take him at 3.08.
Kenneth Walker went at 3.04 as the fifth pick of a five-deep run on running backs, three spots ahead of FantasyCalc's 27th, which means Peter waited his turn behind Ethan, Matthew and Brandon and took whatever was left on the table. Jaxson Dart and Trevor Lawrence were both sitting there, and he let Alex have one at 3.08 and Justin the other at 4.04, so his first running back cost him both quarterbacks in a lineup that starts two. He follows the man in front of him and calls it a board read.

Jonathan Taylor landed on Brandon at 3.03, three spots past FantasyCalc's 20th, a 27-year-old RB5 and the first running back he owns. Ethan took Jeremiyah Love at 3.01 and Matthew took De'Von Achane at 3.02, so Brandon sat through both of them and accepted the last chair at the table. Matthew's De'Von Achane pick at 3.02 was fine, and the reward was watching Brandon take Jonathan Taylor one pick later off the board Matthew just finished reading.
De'Von Achane at 3.02, two spots ahead of FantasyCalc's 24th, the fifth running back off the board in a run of five, which is Matthew joining a stampede already in progress and calling it conviction. He took the RB6 and left Jonathan Taylor sitting there for Brandon to collect one pick later at 3.03. Ethan: Steal by 5 spots
Jeremiyah Love, 21 years old, slid 5 spots to Ethan at 3.01, the kind of present this league keeps mailing to the man who deserves it least.
Alex, Navid and Carlos burned 2.08, 2.09 and 2.10 on receivers and handed Ethan a five-spot steal at 3.01: Jeremiyah Love, 21 years old, FantasyCalc's 16th and the RB4, sitting there unclaimed like a wallet on a bar. The commissioner now has Caleb Williams from 1.10, Brock Bowers from 2.01 and his first running back, which is a tidy little shelf of one each in a lineup that starts two quarterbacks and three flex spots. He wrote the rules and drafts like he has never read them, and three men ahead of him still made him look competent.

George Pickens at 2.10, fifteen spots ahead of FantasyCalc's 35th, the fifth receiver in a run of five, which means Carlos stood there while Justin Jefferson, CeeDee Lamb and Malik Nabers walked out the door and then grabbed the first body left in the room. Jeremiyah Love and Jonathan Taylor were both sitting untouched, so Ethan took Love at 3.01 and Brandon took Taylor at 3.03 while Carlos went home with Drake Maye and one receiver. Malik Nabers slipped 4 spots to Navid at 2.09, which says nothing about Navid's eye and everything about the men who passed.
Malik Nabers, 23 years old and FantasyCalc's 15th, slid four spots into Navid's lap at 2.09 only because Devante, Justin and Alex spent the three picks in front of him hauling every other receiver off the board. It is his first receiver in a lineup that starts three, stacked next to Josh Allen from 1.02, and he did nothing to earn it but sit there with his hands folded while other men made decisions. CeeDee Lamb fell one spot to Alex at 2.08, and Navid immediately took Malik Nabers at 2.09, so Alex got value and still lost the round.
CeeDee Lamb at 2.08 is a fair price for the WR7, which is what happens when Amon-Ra St. Brown and Justin Jefferson go off the board directly in front of you and the board picks for you. Alex left Malik Nabers sitting one spot from Navid's hands and Jeremiyah Love sitting three from Ethan's, and paired his first receiver with Bijan Robinson from 1.03. Justin Jefferson, 5 spots late, at 2.07: Justin drafted his own first name and it remains the sharpest decision he made all night.
Justin Jefferson slid to 2.07, five spots past FantasyCalc's 12th, because Peter spent 2.04 on a tight end and Devante looked at the WR5 sitting right there and took Amon-Ra St. Brown instead. So Justin's first receiver is a 27-year-old the rest of the room passed around like a plate nobody wanted. Amon-Ra St. Brown, FantasyCalc's 9th and the WR4, fell seven spots into Devante's hands at 2.06 because Brandon took Puka Nacua, Peter took Trey McBride and Anish burned 2.05 on a quarterback. Anish took Justin Herbert at 2.05, fifteen spots ahead of FantasyCalc's 30th, the QB11, and one pick later Devante had Amon-Ra St. Brown and two picks later Justin had Justin Jefferson, both of them warm in someone else's hands while Anish admired his quarterback. Peter hit Trey McBride at 2.04 exactly on the number, the most boring correct act ever committed with a pick, and he will brag about it until January.
Three picks after Ethan took Brock Bowers, Peter answered at 2.04 with Trey McBride, the TE2, dead on FantasyCalc's 14th, for the single tight end slot this league starts. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Justin Jefferson were both sitting in front of him, and Devante took one at 2.06 and Justin took the other at 2.07 while Peter filled a slot he only owns one of. Brandon gets a steal of seven and his first receiver in a lineup that starts three, all of it handed over by men who shopped with their eyes shut, and he will spend the rest of the draft pretending he outflanked somebody.
