Week 6, Thursday
At Balaclava in 1854 the written order said to stop the enemy carrying off the guns, and nobody on the ridge could say which guns. Lord Cardigan took six hundred and seventy horsemen down a mile of open valley with Russian batteries on the heights to either side and the messenger who brought the order already dead behind him. The whole ride was over in about twenty minutes. Devante looked at all of that and decided he could do it slower, with Lamar Jackson.
He projects 147.3 against Brandon's 189.8 and the simulator gives him 17%, the lowest number anyone carries into this week. Lamar Jackson at 23.2 and Jalen Hurts at 17.2 are a real pair of guns, and they still leave him riding at a battery he can see from his own lineup page. His weakest starter, Emeka Egbuka at 10.3, projects below Brandon's weakest, DeVonta Smith at 11.4, so the worst player on the other roster is better than the worst player on his. The brigade at least rode on a garbled order from a man who could not be asked to clarify it. Devante wrote his own orders, left 69.2 points on his bench in week 4, and paid $27 for Dohnte Meyers when the next bid was $2.
The matchups
Love on the Spectrum (Ethan) vs Shough and Fhough (Justin)
Ethan projects 161.8 and sits at 81% behind Caleb Williams at 20.2 and Brock Bowers at 20, which is a comfortable evening for a commissioner who gave away 135 in value in one trade and wrote the rule that let him. Justin answers at 126.8 and 19%, named his team after Tyler Shough and then started him at 19.7 next to Trevor Lawrence at 21.2, with Makai Lemon out there at 5.1. His entire night is J.K. Dobbins at 7.6. Loser.
Njigba’s in Paris (Peter) vs Navid
Peter is 60% at 178.7 with Brock Purdy at 25.9 and Jaxon Smith-Njigba playing tonight at 22.2, and his weakest starter is Case Keenum, projected 0, the same Case Keenum he paid $31 for when nobody else put in a bid. Clown. Navid brings 166.2 and 40%, Josh Allen at 27.9, James Cook at 16.9, KC Concepcion at 9.1 and not one player on the field tonight, so he gets to sit and watch Smith-Njigba score for the man with a zero in his lineup, the same way he sat and watched 46.1 points on his own bench in week 5.
