Week 6, Sunday
In 480 BC Leonidas of Sparta held the pass at Thermopylae against the army of Xerxes, and for two days the narrow ground between the cliffs and the sea did the fighting for him. Then a local named Ephialtes showed the enemy a goat path over the mountain, the Greeks were surrounded from behind, and Leonidas died where he stood. Devante is about to lose the same way, minus the pass, the Spartans and the dignity.
Devante has an expected total of 125.1 against Brandon's 189.6 and is 6% to win, with Davante Adams at 16.6 and Geno Smith at 15.3 as his stars, which is holding Thermopylae with a pair of guys who brought folding chairs. Leonidas at least had a traitor to blame. Devante walked the goat path himself, losing 728 in FantasyCalc value in one trade this week, and now Kyle Pitts, projected for 8.9, is the man guarding it. Fucked.
The matchups
Love on the Spectrum (Ethan) vs Shough and Fhough (Justin)
Justin banked 13.6 on Thursday and is still 24% to win, starting Efton Chism at 4.5, a receiver Brandon once bid $0 on, which was the correct price. Ethan is 76% with a 161 expected total, down from 81% before his own guys took the field, and his second star is Bryce Young at 19.4, the roster of a man nobody is allowed to veto. ETHAN IS THE COMMISSIONER AND HIS STAR IS BRYCE YOUNG.
Njigba’s in Paris (Peter) vs Navid
Peter paid $31 for Case Keenum with nobody bidding against him, and this week he is starting him projected for 0, while Brock Purdy at 27 and the 25.4 already banked carry Peter to 65% anyway. Navid has Josh Allen at 27.9 and a 164.7 expected total and sits at 35%, which means his whole lineup is getting dominated by a man fielding an empty jersey. Humiliating.
